BK's tips for a happy life...
Tip #3: Moisturizing skin lotion is a perfect substitute for shaving cream. Its a quicker and easier way to lubricate your face.
How do I know this?
Well recently, because of my Graft vs. Host Disease (a lingering cancer treatment side effect), I've had to use moisturizing skin lotion and a steroid cream - yuk! Nothing is so depressing and gross as slopping a bunch of lotion all over your body. (Except maybe a puppy dog prematurely dying of an external skin disease, but that's another story.) That's why I've been so happy to learn that after I slop up my face, I don't really need to use shaving cream when I shave. All I have to do is splash my face with water and then shave - absolutely just as good as shaving cream. Its been the silver lining to an otherwise annoying cancer side effect.
So if you have to use that horrible stuff, take heart. It will prevent you from having to use shaving cream which is a pain. So at least you'll have that going for you. Which is nice.
In 1962, Irv Kloska and Bonnie Kowrach stood in St. Adalbert's Basilica in Grand Rapids and pledged their lives to each other. More than 40 years and 13 children later, their family has grown to more than 70 members... and counting. With this blog we keep in touch and share our thoughts - much like we have always done around our kitchen table. But like our table, friends are always invited. Welcome!
