Tom and Kathy Fean share this...

Some of you may know the Feans. Their son Greg was instantaneously cured of leukemia through prayer. They are not weird people. Here is their e-mail to me:

Thank you for the update. We were glad we could be there Friday to pray the Rosary for your brother's soul. During Holy Mass Friday morning I got a strong feeling as I walked past the statue of Jesus that He was saying as I prayed for Johnny, "He is coming"; Then around 3:00 on Friday as we were driving to Elkhart/Granger I got a strong feeling "He is home." Give all the glory to God. Our Lady took Johnny by the hand and lead him to her son, our savior. God Bless you Bobby and your family. Our prayers for peace for your family will remain daily and CONSTANT.

Be prepared to see a lot more of this!

In case you haven't noticed, there's a revolution going on in South Bend. After ten years of horrible .650 type football, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame are on the rise. Don't believe me? Then click on the headline above. Just browse around and read and you will understand what is happening. These new guys are not screwing around. Lloyd, Pete and Phil beware!

Little Dave in a Big Big Musical!

Proving once again that he can do more than just make delicious hamburgers, Dave Thomas starred in the St. Joseph High School production of "Good News!" That's him in the blue shirt front and center performing a girly dance with all the girls. The "Good News!" is that Dave is also a football player, so please don't be alarmed. Be sure to call him and tell him you saw his picture in the paper!

Sam Nolan makes his First Holy Communion

Holy Cross Parish Church in South Bend was a beautiful setting for Sam's First Holy Communion a few weeks ago. Here he is with his balding father Sean. After the Mass, the entire Kloska Clan went over to Denis and Kathy Nolan's house for the reception. Lots of food, drinks and hey, Uncle Jeff got a new ride! The gathering was extra special because it the was the last time the Kloskas were all together as a family before Johnny died. It was a wonderful and memorable day.

Meg Kloska becomes a Catholic

On a beautiful April day at Holy Cross College, Meg Kloska was baptized into the Catholic Church by Fr. Kevin Russeau, CSC.

Sean Brown, the quintessential good 'ol boy from Alabama, served as the godfather. When asked by Bobby and Margy if he would do so, he simply answered "Might could." Fellow southerner Ali Kloska was the godmother. In honor of our two Confederate comrades, moonshine and Kentucky Fried Chicken were served at the reception.

Curiously, Johnny Kloska was seen looking behind himself frequently during the Mass. When questioned why, his eyes darted back and forth, "All these southerners make me nervous!"

Fr. Kevin, a native of Michigan through no fault of his own, stayed true to his weeklong threat by humming a few bars of that Michigan song "Hail to the Victors" between the naming of Father, Son and Holy Spirit during the recitation of the baptismal formula. Little Joseph was heard asking, "Who is Victor?" When this was explained to him, he asked "Is Victor is married to Anne Arbor? My mommy says that Anne is not married. People just pay her to do bad things."

Margy filed a formal canonical inqiry as to whether the sacrament was invalidated by the desecration. A prominent canon lawyer responded that the sacrament was still indeed valid. But he also pointed out that you can't spell scum without UM.

Thoughts about Johnny from Elitia, a Holy Cross student who knew him...

What's with the pink hat? Read on...

Dear Mr. Kloska & Family~

Ok, so there are a couple of instances when John touched my life and Mr. Kloska, or for you all in the family, Bobby-ha, asked me to write about them and send the pictures. He asked me to tell you everything and leave no details out, so I apologize ahead of time for the length of this email, I will leave nothing out-haha.

**Spes Unica: When I first met John, I was on the Spes Unica retreat. I am sure all of you know what that is....Well, he was so funny and warm and just very open with me. I was in the stage of becoming Catholic. John was one of the first people I met and one of the most lasting people in my mind. The first night we were there he offered to walk to "Scary Mary" with me. On the way there we would laugh and joke, but the minute we stepped in front of her, he was so serious and so involved with his faith. I asked him how he could be so strong in his faith and just believe...He looked me in the eyes and said, "Elitia, you can not question God." This quote brings me to tears every time I think about it or read it, b/c it has gotten me through so much and stuck with me since that night. Later that night he and I were talking further about faith and he told me this quote: "When we don't even know what questions to ask, faith supplies us with answers, and when we lose our way, it is faith that leads us home." (I have some of our discussions written in my Steno Pad and so some words may be a little different then how he said them, but it is mostly the same.) The next thing to happen that same night is that Hope and I have matching pink hats and we dared him to wear it the rest of the weekend, and despite all of the side comments from the guys, he did-haha. John's sense of humor never failed. If you will notice in the Spes Unica brochure pic he is wearing it-ha. I can tell all of you that John was all about his family and would always talk so highly of all of you. He loved everything about his family and would try to get me to memorize all of your names, but I failed miserably-sorry, but I am bad with that many names-haha. John left me with a lasting impact that weekend, b/c we shared some same struggles and not only did he help me to see the plusses of becoming Catholic, he gave me strength in myself and God.

The Eucharist Reigns at Notre Dame!

Today is the 30th anniversary of my First Holy Communion at St. Thomas in Elkhart. Four days later, Jeff was born. In keeping with the theme of the Eucharist, here's a little something about a big happening at Notre Dame.

It hadn't happened for forty years, but a few weeks ago the Blessed Sacrament was supremely honored by a solemn procession around the campus of Our Lady's University. Several hundred people participated in this very special "Notre Dame Moment".

Kloska Family members present included Margy and Bobby and kids, Mary, Dad, and John and Annie Thomas. Next year, the procession will be on a Sunday after the 11:45 a.m. Mass in the Basilica possibly with Bishop Jenky of Peoria as the main celebrant. Stay tuned!
